“Empire of the Old,” indeed. “Its members will dominate America into the next century.” Be serious. The article correctly pointed out that AARP has to compete legislatively with other organizations of the elderly, that it does not get all it wants and that it has been accused of selling out for going along with ex-President Reagan’s health care plan modifications. But the cover made it sound as though AARP and its members are an invincible conspiracy. Shame on you.
