Aissa Wayne’s weekend visit with her 2-year-old daughter Anastasia turned into an indefinite stay when an Orange County judge ordered Wayne’s imprisoned ex-husband to turn over temporary custody to her. The ex-husband, Dr. Thomas Gionis, a Pomona surgeon, had been given sole custody of the child last January after a judge found, in part, that Wayne, daughter of the late film legend John Wayne, was “emotionally immature.” Gionis was arrested last week--and remains in jail without bail--on charges of setting up an attack last year in which Wayne was bloodied and her boyfriend’s Achilles tendon was slashed. A court date on the custody matter was set for April 26.
