P.M. BRIEFING : FCC Move Hints AT&T; Deregulation

WASHINGTON — The Federal Communications Commission said today it will review overall competition in the telecommunications market, which could lead to a deregulation of American Telephone & Telegraph Co.
The FCC, in informally opening the review, put no timetable on the review, which an aide called the most comprehensive into the telecommunications marketplace since the breakup of AT&T;’s monopoly five years ago.
