MGM/UA Television and Soyuztelefilm will co-produce a four-hour television miniseries about a joint Soviet-U.S. space expedition to Mars. The production, for NBC in this country and Gosteleradio in the Soviet Union, will be filmed primarily in the Soviet Union and will be a collaborative effort of Soviet and American writers, directors and actors. Executive producers from the United States are Lawrence Horowitz and David Gerber, chairman of MGM/UA Television. Filming is expected to begin next spring.
