Two Santa Ana men were shot and killed early Wednesday about an hour apart in separate incidents.
Police said Aaron Olivos,32, was driving east on 1st Street approaching Daisy Avenue when he was forced to stop by a driver backing his car out of a fast-food restaurant parking lot.
“Olivos honked, got out of his car and approached the other car,” Santa Ana Police Lt. Bob Chavez said. “He was immediately shot one time through the passenger window,” he said.
Olivos suffered a single gunshot wound to the right side from a small-caliber handgun and died at the scene. Witnesses saw a red compact car drive east on 1st Street after the shooting.
In the other incident about an hour earlier, police received reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of South Standard Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the body of Esequiel Martinez, 32, of Santa Ana lying in an alley, Chavez said. Martinez had been shot once, he said. Police had no suspects.
