Contra Chiefs, Nicaraguan Opposition to Meet in May

MANAGUA, Nicaragua — Contra leaders will meet opposition politicians in Managua next month in a bid to field a unity coalition against Nicaragua’s ruling Sandinistas in the 1990 elections, La Prensa reported.
The opposition newspaper said Tuesday that rebel leaders will meet with heads of 14 opposition parties in the capital “if the Sandinistas don’t stop them.” It would be the rebel leaders’ first trip to Managua since June.
