College Roundup : SCC Rallies for Victory Over UCSD

Alex Andrade drove in two runs to help Southern California College defeat UC San Diego, 7-6, Thursday in a nonconference baseball game at SCC.
With one out and the bases loaded in the seventh, Andrade hit a two-run double to give the Vanguards (21-13) a 7-6 lead.
Doug Rystrom (5-1) gave up 10 hits and struck out two for the victory. Denny Berni had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs, and Kevin Kasper had two hits and two RBIs for Southern California.
In nonconference men’s tennis:
UC Irvine 5, USC 4--Trevor Kronemann defeated Greg Failla, 6-3, 6-3, at the Racquet Club of Irvine, giving the Anteaters (20-6) their seventh consecutive match victory. Kronemann also teamed with Mike Briggs to defeat Murphy Jenson and Kent Seton, 6-4, 6-3, in doubles play.
Chapman 5, United States International 4--Olivier Amerlinck teamed with Darren Capik to defeat Yoram Baron and Craig Beck, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2, for Chapman (11-9) at USIU. Amerlinck also defeated Baron, 6-2, 6-2, in singles play. Also for Chapman, Michael Zuercher defeated Beck, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, and David Seline defeated Ralph Kunzler, 6-2, 6-3.
