Escorted Prisoner Escapes While at Uncle’s Funeral

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A shackled prisoner who was escorted to his uncle’s funeral by two guards escaped with the help of an armed accomplice, police said.
Jody Dean Lee, 20, obtained court permission to attend his uncle’s funeral Saturday. Lee was arrested on an assault charge a week ago and was also wanted for robbery and other charges.
