Doran Scores Two Goals, Gives Lazers Double Overtime Victory Over Wichita

Daryl Doran scored at 4:46 of the second overtime Sunday to give the Los Angeles Lazers a 5-4 victory over the Wichita Wings in the Major Indoor Soccer League regular-season finale before an announced crowd of nearly 3,000 at the Forum.
Wichita’s Mike Fox scored with nine seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game, 4-4, and force sudden-death overtime. Neither team scored during the first 15-minute overtime period.
The Lazers finished the season with a 21-27 record and missed the playoffs, while Wichita finished 23-25 and moves on to post-season play.
Doran had two goals for the Lazers. Poli Garcia, Ben Collins and Hector Marinaro also scored for Los Angeles. Fox had two goals for the Wings. Also scoring for Wichita were Erik Rasmussen and Chico Borja.
The Wings outshot the Lazers, 38-36. Lazer goaltender Kris Peat had 19 saves while two Wichita goalies, Chris Vaccaro and Nenad Zigante, had a total of 14 saves.
