The Lewitzky Dance Company will be the first modern-dance troupe to appear in Segerstrom Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa when it guests with the Master Chorale of Orange County on Oct. 27, officials at both organizations confirmed Monday.
The Los Angeles-based company will dance Bella Lewitzky’s “Nos Duraturi,” set to Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, as part of the Master Chorale 1989-90 season opener. The Chorale plans to announce its full season at a press conference today.
Established in 1966, the Lewitzky Company has been an active and highly respected force on the national and international dance scene. “Nos Duraturi” was commissioned for the 1984 Olympic Arts Festival in Los Angeles.
