A young man apparently slipped and fell to his death at Horsetail Falls near South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County authorities reported. Sheriff’s deputies identified the victim as Robert Smith, 20, of Orangevale, Calif. Witnesses told deputies Smith was attempting to jump from one rock to another at the top of the falls when he slipped and fell about 90 feet into a deep churning pool of water.
