A discussion on athletes in industry will be among the topics covered at a seminar on risk management in health, sponsored by insurance broker Fred S. James & Co. of California.

The Irvine brokerage said it is holding the seminar to show its clients and other employers that increased awareness of wellness can cut medical claims and worker compensation claims.

“It’s a matter of fact, but employers don’t know what they can do,” said Sally LeSage, a spokeswoman for James. Among the scheduled topics are accident prevention and health promotion.

LeSage said 50 employers have said so far that they will attend the public seminar, which will be held at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa. The seminar has a $10 fee.
