Corso Declines Overseas Offer to Remain as Harvard Coach

Rich Corso, who coached the Harvard High water polo team to its first Southern Section 2-A Division championship last season, has rejected an offer to coach a club team in West Germany and will remain at Harvard, he said Wednesday.
“We came to the decision that it’s best for the Corso family and American water polo if I stay. And for Harvard water polo,” he said. “Everything I do now with my high school and my club team is going to put myself into a position to develop players for the international level.”
Corso, who lost his bid to coach the Olympic water polo team in 1992, said that he is planning to seek election to the 1996 team.
“You bet your life I am,” Corso said. “That’s why I’m staying.”
