The Colleges : College Roundup : Chapman Slams Past UCSD in Baseball

Mike Grahovac had two hits, including a grand slam, as Chapman College defeated the UC San Diego, 13-4, Thursday in a nonconference baseball game at Hart Park.
The Panthers (20-21) scored six runs in the fifth inning, four on Grahovac’s grand slam. Joe Vernazza also had two RBIs for the Panthers.
Steve Halweg (5-3) pitched seven innings for the victory. Gary Fessia (0-3) took the loss for UC San Diego (18-15), ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division III.
In Big West Conference softball:
Cal State Fullerton 6-1, San Diego State 1-0--Tiny Glomboske had two hits, including her second home run of the season, for the Titans in the first game at San Diego State. Glomboske also had two RBIs. In the second game, Ann Van Dortrecht (15-4) pitched a one-hitter.
