Rights Policies in Tustin and Irvine

In the issue of The Times (April 12) that carried the news about the debate on the gay-rights clause in the Irvine human-rights ordinance appeared an adjacent article about the drop in test scores in Irvine High School, among others.
If the homophobic parents and so-called Christians who wish to preserve discrimination against gays in Irvine would concentrate instead on improving the education of their children, maybe the latter would grow up to become better citizens and human beings than their fanatic, narrow-minded elders.
