The Westside of Los Angeles, as well as the cities of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, have some of the highest rents in the metropolitan area, according to a study by Grubb & Ellis Co., a national real estate firm.
A typical two-bedroom apartment in Westwood rents for $1,500 a month, requiring an annual salary of about $60,000, according to John F. Carpenter of the firm’s West Los Angeles office. He said the study was done primarily for developers interested in building apartments and investors seeking to buy them.
Typical two-bedroom apartments in Brentwood and Beverly Hills rent for $1,450 a month. The same size unit rents for $1,250 in West Hollywood and $1,150 in Hollywood, according to the study.
