Boeing Wins Order for 18 Planes: USAir Inc. has ordered 18 Boeing 737 jetliners and has taken options on 36 more in a deal with a potential value of about $1.7 billion, Boeing Commercial Airplanes Co. reported. The USAir order includes flexibility for the airline to decide later whether it wants jets in the 737-300, -400 or -500 series. The -500 is the smallest, with capacity of 100 to 132 passengers, and the -400 is the largest, able to carry 145 to 170 passengers. Deliveries will begin during 1991. Separately, United Airlines plans to announce today that it is ordering 190 narrow-body jets worth $7.5 billion from Boeing Co., according to a published report.
