From the High-Definition Television File: A high-definition television demonstration using “Gone With the Wind” is being shown at the National Assn. of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas by Turner Entertainment Co. and Rank Cintel. Rank Cintel is the developer and manufacturer of a new machine, called the MKIII HD (1125/60) flying spot telecine, that will make film-to-tape transfer. HDTV provides an image quality more than twice as detailed as today’s video standard.
