An unidentified white man, thought to be in his mid-30s, was struck by two vehicles and killed Wednesday evening while trying to cross California 94 near the College Avenue exit, authorities said.
Deputy Coroner Everett Mauger said the man apparently was crossing from the Marketplace at the Grove shopping center, which is on the north side of 94.
He was hit about 6:15 p.m. by a pickup, then by a sedan, both of which were headed west on the freeway, Mauger said.
