DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — Small quantities of illegal drugs were found in the home of Abbie Hoffman, the Yippie movement co-founder who committed suicide earlier this month, authorities said today.
The drugs were found in a box in Hoffman’s refrigerator, Bucks County Dist. Atty. Alan M. Rubenstein said. The box contained 9.38 grams of marijuana, 0.31 grams of hashish, a cocaine residue and trace amounts of LSD, amphetamines and psilocybin, Rubenstein said.
Hoffman, 52, died April 12 of what coroner Thomas Rosko called a “massive overdose” of the sedative phenobarbital and large quantities of alcohol.
