P.J. Carlesimo left the University of Kentucky without comment or an offer to become the Wildcats’ basketball coach.
“I have absolutely no comment,” Carlesimo said while touring Memorial Coliseum to look at the basketball facilities.
Kentucky president David Roselle said, “No offer has been made to Carlesimo, at least yet.”
Carlesimo coached unheralded Seton Hall to the runner-up spot in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. tournament this year. Kentucky is awaiting National Collegiate Athletic Assn. penalties for irregularities in its basketball program.
