A portrait of Ella Fitzgerald by artist Anthony Benedetto--better known as singer Tony Bennett--will be presented at the Beverly Hilton Hotel today as part of Fitzgerald’s birthday celebration. Fitzgerald, who turned 71 on Tuesday, will keep the original and lithographs will be sold to raise funds for the Society of Singers, which is throwing the birthday party. Clint Eastwood, Pat Boone and Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley will attend, Bill Cosby will emcee and Carol Burnett, Manhattan Transfer, the Pointer Sisters, Mel Torme and Dionne Warwick will perform.
