FirstTeam Real Estate, a large local broker, is moving into enemy territory: the northern part of Orange County.

The Costa Mesa-based broker said it sold more than $1 billion worth of houses and condos from the five offices in its traditional territory, south and central Orange County.

Now it has opened an office in Anaheim Hills and says it may open more offices in northern Orange County.

FirstTeam was part of Century 21 until 1985. It says it sold a quarter of the houses sold in Huntington Beach last year and a third of the houses in Irvine.
