Bonny to Coach Marina Girls’ Basketball

Pete Bonny has been hired as girls’ basketball coach at Marina High School, Bonnie Stormont, girls’ athletic director, announced Friday.
Bonny has been the junior varsity coach and a varsity assistant at Newport Harbor the past four seasons. He replaces Mike Thorton, who resigned last month to become the Orange Coast College women’s coach.
Thornton will remain as a teacher at Marina. Bonny, a graduate of Ocean View, will serve as a walk-on coach.
