The Alzheimer’s Assn. of Ventura County satellite office in Camarillo, which offers support for families in Camarillo and Somis who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease, has become popular.
More than 2,500 people in the Camarillo-Somis area have the disease, according to the association. That number is expected to more than triple by the year 2020.
Since the satellite office opened in July, association officials said the facility has served more than 250 Alzheimer’s patients and their families.
The Camarillo Alzheimer’s Satellite Office Project is open Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing staff support and counseling for people whose lives are touched by the disease, said Jane Rozanski, administrator of the Camarillo Health Care District, which provided the grant for the satellite office.
The satellite office is at the Camarillo Health Care District, 3639 Las Posas Road, Suite 117. For information, call 388-1952 or 643-2614.
