HUNTINGTON BEACH — The arrest of three burglary suspects early Saturday led detectives to retrieve stolen property from up to 20 different burglaries throughout Orange County, Huntington Beach police said.
Salvador Andreas Freeman, 20; Napoleon Dinh, 18; and an unidentified minor were arrested at Bolsa Avenue and Golden West Street at 1:20 a.m Saturday, Police Lt. Jon Arnold said. A police helicopter spotted them in a black pickup that had been reported stolen.
A patrol officer, who ordered the driver to pull over, saw tools typically used in vehicle burglaries in the truck bed. Also found were car parts similar to those stripped during two earlier burglaries in Westminster and Huntington Beach, Arnold said.
The three suspects were taken to the Huntington Beach City Jail where Freeman and Dinh, both of Huntington Beach, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary and possessing burglary tools. The minor was booked at Juvenile Hall.
Freeman is a Navy serviceman and Dinh works as a clerk. Both men remained at the city jail on $10,000 bail.
The suspects provided information that led investigators to their Huntington Beach homes, where car parts and stolen property from up to 20 burglaries were discovered.
Investigators worked throughout the day locating the owners, Arnold said. No exact value of the retrieved goods was immediately available.
“The suspects tentatively have been linked to a number of burglaries that have occurred over the past month,” Arnold said. “Hopefully, this will help us clear up a number of cases in Fountain Valley, Westminster and Huntington Beach.”
