SANTA ANA — A jackknifed truck caused the northbound Costa Mesa Freeway to be closed for nearly two hours on Sunday, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
The moving van’s gas tank ruptured in the accident near MacArthur Boulevard, spilling 150 gallons of fuel onto the freeway.
Traffic was halted from 11:34 a.m. to 1:19 p.m. as far back as Newport Beach as workers cleaned up the road.
No one was injured.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
