From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A soldier who died just days before facing a court-martial on rape charges was identified as Pvt. Alan May, 22, of Texas, the Army said. May was found dead in his barracks room at the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground. The cause of death is still to be determined, a post release stated. The school is the site of a major rape and sexual misconduct investigation that has led to charges against three trainers. In a case officials said was unrelated to the misconduct investigation, May was charged with raping a female trainee in June.
