In an attempt to expand its growing food-distribution management business, Fresh America Corp. of Dallas, which supplies 373 Sam’s Club warehouse stores, said it has signed a letter of intent to buy CPT Enterprises Inc., a specialty produce distributor with operations in Los Angeles and San Francisco, for undisclosed terms. . . . Santa Barbara-based PDT Inc. said it paid $2 million for a one-third share of privately held Ramus Medical Technologies of Carpinteria and will co-develop technology that could overcome certain complications of heart bypass surgery.
