Investor Increases Stake in Chicago Pizza to 10%

MISSION VIEJO — Chicago Pizza & Brewery Inc. said that investor ASSI Inc. has increased its stake in the company to 10.16% with the purchase in December of 125,000 shares of Chicago Pizza’s common stock at $5 per share in open-market transactions.
Nevada-based ASSI, owned by investor Louis Habash, now holds 651,172 shares of common stock of the company and owns options to acquire up to 3.2 million additional shares.
ASSI said it has acquired the stock as a long-term investment. Chicago Pizza owns 27 restaurants that it operates under the names BJ’s Pizza, Grill & Brewery and BJ’s Pizza & Grill.
