After a long special workshop, the City Council voted unanimously to extend the moratorium on wireless telecommunications facilities applications.
The council’s decision Tuesday will extend the current moratorium an additional 10 months and 15 days, prohibiting the city from processing any new applications from companies interested in placing telecommunications antennas in the city.
The 45-day emergency ban that was enacted in November was set to expire Friday.
“We don’t know nearly enough to craft an ordinance right now,” Councilwoman Toni Gallagher said.
