IRA Admits Role in N. Ireland Bombing

The Irish Republican Army said it carried out a bomb ambush in which police officers narrowly escaped injury. IRA guerrillas indicated that they would keep on fighting until Britain includes them in Northern Ireland peace talks. Responding to Tuesday’s Londonderry attack, which came after an IRA rocket attack, the British government vowed to prevent a resurgence in guerrilla violence. It said it will not let the IRA bomb its way into peace talks.
