Southwest Missouri State 90, Long Beach State 75--The Bears (12-1) shot 62% and had a 40-22 rebounding advantage over the 49ers (4-7) in a nonconference game at Long Beach.
Center Danny Moore had 21 points for Southwest Missouri State, which has lost only to No. 6 Cincinnati, and guard James Cotton had 25 for Long Beach State.

Mike Wozniak scored a season-high 29 points as Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (7-6) was a 101-86 home-court winner over New Mexico State (6-5) in its Big West debut. . . . Guard Marcus Saxon scored 17 of his 33 points in overtime to lead Utah State (9-4, 2-0) to a 73-60 victory over Boise State (5-6, 1-1) at Boise, Idaho.

Montana State 85, Cal State Northridge 68--Guard Danny Sprinkle scored all of his 14 points in the final 10 minutes as the Bobcats (8-6, 2-1) pulled away from the Matadors (6-7, 2-1) at Bozeman, Mont.
Northridge played without Coach Bobby Braswell, who was attending the funeral of his brother Victor, who died last Saturday.
The Matadors, seeking to go over .500 for the first time in seven seasons, had five double-figure scorers led by guard Derrick Higgins’ 16 points.

Five Idaho State players were suspended the rest of the season after receiving six-months probation and $300 fines for shoplifting. The players, who have been suspended since Dec. 21, were averaging a combined 25 points and Idaho State (6-5, 2-1) has won four of six games without them but lost, 75-61, to Weber State (6-6, 2-1) on Thursday. Idaho State Coach Herb Williams is left with seven scholarship players and a walk-on.
