The Pepperdine men’s volleyball team concludes its own tournament tonight with the Waves taking on Long Beach State at 7:30 p.m. at the Firestone Fieldhouse.

Pepperdine earned a split Thursday, the first day of competition. The Waves (1-1) lost to Alberta, the top collegiate team in Canada, in five games in their season opener in the first match of the round-robin tournament. Later, they beat San Diego State in three games.

After getting a jump-start on the season with a four-game victory over USC, Cal State Northridge will play the second day of the UC Santa Barbara tournament today. Northridge went 2-1 in three best-of-three-game matches Friday.

Northridge plays Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at 9 a.m. and takes on Cal at 11:30 a.m. and Calgary at 12:45 p.m.
