* Great coverage on “Hundreds Mourn Slain LAPD Officer” (Dec. 31). The picture of Officer Mario Navidad’s widow clutching the flag and closing her eyes says it all. Anyone who looked at that picture had to feel the pain.
And that’s exactly what we should do, “feel the pain,” and as we do, realize the next one to experience pain of that magnitude could be any one of us. Maybe by experiencing another’s pain we will find a way to make the world less painful.
