A Palestinian Arab girl and an Israeli Jewish boy meet and share opinions with a group of American kids in the premiere of Nick News Special Edition: Peace on Earth (Nickelodeon, Sunday, 8:30 p.m.). The special is an exploration of what’s happening in the Middle East. Host Linda Ellerbee then leads the group in a discussion about racism, stereotyping and hate in America. (Repeats Jan. 19 at 5 p.m.) For ages 8 to 14.

It’s Cinderella day on the Disney Channel. First up is the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version from 1965, starring a radiant Lesley Ann Warren, who’s joined by Jo Van Fleet, Celeste Holm, Ginger Rogers and Walter Pidgeon (Disney Channel, Sunday, 11:15 a.m.). Then comes Walt Disney’s beloved 1950 classic animated version of the tale (Disney Channel, Sunday, 7 p.m.) For the family.
