Profits, Revenues Up for Computer Rental Company

Electro Rent Corp., a Van Nuys renter of personal computers, said its profit for the second fiscal quarter that ended Nov. 30 was $6.5 million, up 20% from $5.4 million in the second quarter last year.
Revenues for the quarter were up 10% to $38 million from $34.6 million last year.
For the first six months of 1996, the profit was $13 million, up 22% from $10.6 million in the corresponding period last year. Revenues for the first half of the fiscal year were $76 million, up 10% from $69 million last year.
The company attributed the results to strong rental and lease revenues, and especially brisk used equipment sales.
