Parents: Ever freeze up at the flicker of a computer screen? Worry about how to keep your kids safe from the uglier side of the Internet? Or wonder exactly how your sons and daughters are using technology in their classrooms?
The Simi Valley PTA Council has answers for you.
Tomorrow night, the PTA Council will sponsor a parent seminar dubbed “Exploring Technology in Our District Schools.” At the forum, Simi Valley Unified School District officials will explain the ins and outs of computer usage, covering how students can use technology in their classrooms and how parents can monitor their children’s computer voyages.
“A lot of kids are surfing the net, using the net,” said PTA Council member Jeannette Goede. Panelists “will be talking about how parents can restrict what their kids are getting into and also how to make the most of what’s out there.”
The seminar--which is free and open to the public--will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Santa Susana High School, 3570 E. Cochran St.
