Majerle Will Rest Before Surgery

Miami Heat forward Dan Majerle says he’ll rest his sore back for a month before deciding whether to have an operation.
Majerle, who went on the injured list for the second time this season Wednesday, has played in only one game since Dec. 21.

Chicago Bull center Luc Longley will return tonight against the Washington Bullets after missing seven weeks because of a separated shoulder. . . . The Seattle SuperSonics signed 14-year NBA veteran forward Terry Cummings to a one-year contract, the team said. Terms were not disclosed.
