Servite’s Cicero Chooses Texas

Servite quarterback Greg Cicero has orally committed to Texas, his mother, Julie Cicero, said Wednesday.
Cicero completed 174 of 288 passes for 3,078 yards and 30 touchdowns last season, helping the Friars reach the Southern Section Division V semifinals.
As a junior, Cicero threw for 2,360 yards and 28 touchdowns in leading Servite to the Division V title game.
Cicero threw for 5,438 yards in two seasons, ninth-most in Orange County history. His 58 touchdown passes tied him for third on the all-time county list.

Danny Pulido, a wide receiver and outside linebacker on the Newport Harbor football team, has orally committed to Oregon. Pulido (6-5, 220) was a second-team, all-county selection by The Times.
Pulido said he will move to tight end at Oregon but plans to be a redshirt next season. He caught 68 passes for 1,019 yards and scored 11 touchdowns last season to help the Sailors (12-2) reach the Southern Section Division V championship game.
Pulido caught a school-record 140 passes in three seasons, gaining 2,103 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns. He chose Oregon over Colorado and Washington.

Two-way linemen Steve Sua and David Wilford of Tustin have committed to UCLA to play football, Tustin Coach Myron Miller announced. Sua, a Times all-county first-team selection, is 6 feet 2, 250 pounds. Wilford is 6 feet 5, 270 pounds.

An eight-team baseball tournament that was scheduled for this weekend in Tustin has been rescheduled for Feb. 1-2. The tournament, which features players from high school and community college, will be played at Tustin and Foothill high schools.
