SCC Cruises to Victory Over La Sierra

Southern California College took a 24-point lead at halftime and cruised to victory, 89-52, over La Sierra in a nonconference men’s basketball game Thursday at SCC.

SCC (13-5) outrebounded La Sierra, 48-34, and held La Sierra (2-16) to 39.6% shooting from the field.

Terence Wilborn scored 13 points in 17 minutes and Jeff Rose came off the bench to score 13 points in 19 minutes for SCC, which shot 46% from the field.

Eric Walker scored 12 points and Justin McIntee added 11 for the Vanguards.

Patrick Henry had 17 points and eight rebounds and Tivon Gibson added 14 points for La Sierra, which committed 30 turnovers.

In nonconference wrestling:

San Francisco State 24, Cal State Fullerton 12--Jason Webster (177 pounds) and Carl Sharamitaro (150) won by decisions for the Titans (0-4). Webster improved to 5-2 and Sharamitaro improved to 7-5.
