Embarrassed by a goodwill mission turned bad, the Canadian army said that 47 soldiers face possible dismissal for sexual misconduct, drunkenness and abuse of patients at a mental hospital in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The misconduct in Bosnia occurred in 1993-94 at the Bakovici mental hospital during a mission that at the time was depicted as heroic and successful. Baril said 57 members of the 12th Armored Regiment, which was assigned to protect the war-zone hospital, committed various offenses. Ten of the soldiers have left the army and are no longer subject to military discipline.
