SEOUL — Auto and shipyard workers, nurses and TV journalists will return to work next week, staging only one-day strikes each week until mid-February, the leader of a nationwide strike said today.
The concession, which will put tens of thousands back to work, comes with both sides under pressure to negotiate an end to the 23-day strike that has crippled much of the nation.
“We will launch a bigger strike if the government does not accept our demand by Feb. 18,” said Kwon Young Gil, the head of an outlawed labor union.
