Here’s the Skinny on Stanley Roberts

Center Stanley Roberts, who has a tendency to gain weight, said he hasn’t put on any since he was put on the injured list Dec. 11 because of a back injury.
“Stanley is starting to look skinny when he stands around Duck [center Kevin Duckworth],” Coach Bill Fitch said.
Roberts, who completed his third full-scale practice Friday, isn’t sure when he’ll return.
“I’ll come back when they’re ready for me,” Roberts said. “I have way less pain.”

Fitch said at first he thought center Lorenzen Wright, who missed seven of eight shots in Wednesday’s 108-93 loss to the Indiana Pacers, had lost his work ethic after he didn’t stay after practice to work on his shooting.
“He’s got to keep working out, but he’s standing over there with a big grin on his face,” Fitch said. “Two weeks ago, I’d see him getting his last shots in. Sometimes you get to this period of the season and you need the rest.”
But Wright didn’t rest.
Wright left to shoot baskets with his younger brother, Lou, a freshman at Westchester High, for 90 minutes.
