Public-Owned Dodgers

* Re “Making a Pitch for a Dodger Blue-Chip,” Jan. 12.
As Scott Harris surmised, there are many of us out in the communities ready and willing to support a move for public involvement in the sale.
This is an issue that, for a change, does not dissect or fragment our community. It cuts across socioeconomic and ethnic lines.
As the many articles in your paper have intimated, Los Angeles has been lambasted for a lack of identity. Forget Hollywood; this is it, the Los Angeles Dodgers. For a change, all of us can get behind an issue that will benefit the whole. Please pass my support, and that of 40 to 50 people I have spoken to, on to the appropriate sources.
As a lifelong Angeleno, I am proud of the community’s response. This may not solve the critical problems we have, but it may help us feel that the effort can be mustered.

* I don’t care whose idea it is or was; having the Dodgers publicly owned with all the items Scott pointed out or suggested is a great idea! Let’s not just have a “groundswell”--let’s have a tidal wave of public support and get the ball rolling.
