Good Day for Greathouse and Buena

Nicole Greathouse had 30 points and 10 rebounds and Buena High, top-ranked in The Times’ area poll, defeated Hueneme, 72-24, in a Channel League girls’ basketball game Saturday at Hueneme.
Renae Hofman added 12 points and nine steals for the Bulldogs (12-1, 6-0 in league).
Buena outscored the Vikings, 37-7, in the first half.
Ventura 50, Santa Barbara 48--Erin Oshita had 14 points for the Cougars in a Channel League game at Santa Barbara.
Ventura (11-4, 4-2) trailed, 27-25, at halftime but outscored the Dons (8-9, 3-3) in the third quarter, 14-2.
Alisa Richman and Alex Gientkey each sank two free throws in the closing seconds for Ventura.
Dos Pueblos 54, Oxnard 51--Jaline Bradley made five of eight three-point shots and scored 22 points but the Yellowjackets missed all seven of their free throws in the fourth quarter of a Channel League game at Dos Pueblos.
Oxnard (9-7, 4-2) cut a 10-point deficit to three in the final minute, but missed two shots and three free throws in the last 42 seconds. The Yellowjackets made two of 15 free throws in the game.
Nicole Sanchez scored 22 points for Dos Pueblos (11-4, 4-2).
San Marcos 52, Rio Mesa 48--Megan Bosserman made four three-pointers and finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, but the Spartans (8-8, 1-6) suffered their sixth consecutive defeat since center Michelle Keith suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Crescenta Valley 69, Perris 55--Michelle Greco had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the No. 2 Falcons (16-2) in a nonleague game at Crescenta Valley.
Crescenta Valley led, 45-20, at halftime.
BOYS
Montclair Prep 71, Oak Park 68--Rocky Steryo had 38 points, including five in the final 40 seconds, for the Mounties (10-5) in a nonleague game at Oak Park.
Montclair Prep led by 10 midway through the third quarter and by six with 2 1/2 minutes to play, but Randy Gastwirt, who had 25 points, hit three consecutive shots to pull the Eagles (11-6) even, 66-66, with a minute to play.
Kilpatrick 63, Frazier Mountain 36--Charles Blakey scored all 19 of his points in the second half for the Mustangs (4-6, 2-2) in a Alpha League game at Frazier Mountain.
