Ocean View Breezes Past Oiler Girls

Tracy Lindquist scored 23 points, including four three-pointers, and Jennifer Tuiolosega scored 18 points to lead sixth-ranked Ocean View to a 60-40 nonleague girls’ basketball victory over Huntington Beach Saturday night at Ocean View High School.
Sharon Shelton had eight rebounds and four steals for the Seahawks (16-4).
Erica Waetjen scored 12 points for Huntington Beach (14-6).
In other nonleague girls’ basketball games:
Capistrano Valley 50, Cerritos 37--Jenny Jennings scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds as seventh-ranked Capistrano Valley defeated Cerritos. Mary Anderson also scored 19 points for the host Cougars (12-5).
Natasha Combs scored 11 points for Capistrano Valley.
Newport Harbor 75, Tustin 42--Colleen Eadie scored 22 points in a nonleague victory for host Newport Harbor (10-7). April Ross had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Sailors.
Brooke Brown scored 13 points for Tustin (8-11).
Pacifica 57, Corona del Mar 39--Jaymee Pendergast scored 22 points in a nonleague victory for Pacifica. The Mariners outscored Corona del Mar, 33-16, in the second half.
Jennifer Dickson scored 16 points for the host Sea Kings (3-12). Lindsay Warmington scored 11 points for Corona del Mar.
Westminster 57, Fountain Valley 48--Janet Glasby scored 20 and Erin Moore added 18 for Westminster (14-6).
Valencia 48, Fullerton 36--Trish Christian and Allison Jacobs each scored 11 points in a nonleague victory for Valencia (9-9). Shannon Hoerner scored 12 points for Fullerton.
In the 21st annual San Francisco Rotary wrestling tournament:
San Clemente places second--Mateo Headrick of San Clemente received the Gorian Award for having the most pins in the least time with four pins in 6:10. Mike Ketcham of Edison received the Champion of Champions Award. County champions were Shahab Mostafa of San Clemente at 112, Tim Mulhere of Santa Margarita at 135, George Guzman of Santiago at 140, Tim Humphry of San Clemente at 160, Hyatt Moore of Dana Hills at 189, Headrick at 215, and Ketcham at heavyweight.
In Pacific Coast League boys’ soccer:
Laguna Beach 1, University 0--Seth Simcowits scored with about 10 minutes to go on an assist from Chris Witworth and Mike Labeta stopped seven shots to record his first shutout of the season for Laguna Beach (9-4-1, 2-0).
