A free class on living with diabetes will be presented Tuesday by Greater Valley Medical Group.
“Staying in Control of Diabetes” will be led by registered nurses who specialize in treating patients with the disease, said Greater Valley spokeswoman Cheryl Capella.
Similar courses are offered about every three months as a public service, Capella said .
“We want to stress that it’s important for diabetes patients to bring their families to the class so they will know what the person is going through,” Capella said.
“It’s a general class that touches on everything from insulin to meal planning to eye and skin care to the psychological factors of diabetes.”
Greater Valley Medical Group, which was recently purchased by Cedars-Sinai Health System, operates out of 17 locations stretching from San Fernando to Ventura.
Tuesday’s class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the group’s Van Nuys location, 14600 Sherman Way, Suite 300.
Although the class is free, preregistration is required. For more information or to register, call (818) 898-2380.
