Furon Acquires Medex

LAGUNA NIGUEL — Furon Co. said Monday it has completed its acquisition of Medex Inc., an Ohio-based manufacturer of infusion systems and other medical products, for $160 million, or $23.50 a share.
Furon said Medex had sales of $99.3 million for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1996. Furon said the transaction was funded through existing cash and bank financing.
Furon produces engineered polymer components for the health-care and other industries.
