Duck update--Coach Ron Wilson doesn’t believe the Ducks are simply a one-line team. Paul Kariya, Teemu Selanne and Steve Rucchin, the top line, are the only Ducks with 10 goals or more, however. Kevin Todd, the Ducks’ fourth-leading scorer, has eight goals and 25 points, but hasn’t scored in 18 consecutive games dating to Dec. 1. Goaltender Guy Hebert missed practice Monday because of flu-like symptoms but expects to start his 11th consecutive game.
Devil update--New Jersey relies on superb goaltending by Martin Brodeur and defense. Scoring is not one of its strong suits. Bill Guerin, who had two goals in the Devils’ 5-3 victory over the Ducks Dec. 28, leads the Devils with 16 goals. The Devils were tied with San Jose for the fewest goals in the league (113) before beating Kings, 4-1, Tuesday night.
